No, make it two more; let it be written in eight and eight.

We’re two for two this summer on Shakespeare-in-the-park! Last night we went to GreenStage’s presentation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in Redmond’s Anderson Park. H & M were excited to go and delighted at the double entendres, rolling whenever Bottom spoke or was spoken of.

Earlier in the day, they were reenacting parts of Act II Scene I:

PUCK (H) How now, spirit! whither wander you?

Fairy (M) Over hill, over dale,
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire,
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon’s sphere;
And I serve the fairy queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green.
The cowslips tall her pensioners be:
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours,
In those freckles live their savours:
I must go seek some dewdrops here
And hang a pearl in every cowslip’s ear.
Farewell, thou lob of spirits; I’ll be gone:
Our queen and all our elves come here anon.

PUCK The king doth keep his revels here to-night

  1. Unfortunately, not. I’m headed to Oroville for the first day of the long bike ride.
