Enough Pineapple

For those of you who’ve asked, we have had the gamut of weather: snow, heavy rain showers, sleet, clear, windy… and a huge serving of Pineapple Express.

Some of the roads to work (Newport Way, 148th Ave, Coal Creek) were closed from flooding or mudslides, but it was far worse to the southwest where Interstate 5, the major north-south connector for the region, was shut down from flooding. (The detour is ~250 miles.)

With the rain letting up, I was glad to be out riding today. There was a lot of crud on the side of the road. Marymoor park has some wet spots that the Canada geese were enjoying. The water covering this trail was deeper than it initially looked. I wasn’t sure whether I should stop (which meant I’d have to put my foot down and walk my bike out) or pedal through. I pedaled.

It’s soooo dark in the afternoon, the price to pay for the surplus of daylight we have in the summer.
